More on my Bigfoot

I have not always believed in Bigfoot. How ever when I was about 13 (Only ten years ago). An acquaintance of my farther and a well respected mountaineer shared a story about an encounter with "The Big Guy" during one of his expeditions in the Himalayas. I am not going to go into detail about it as it was long time ago and I cant remember the whole thing. How ever I do remember doubting him. Until I repeatedly gained new insights into his strength of character and just how much respect he held with in the mountaineering community (Of which I was a junior member) we belonged too.

So anyway I eventually believed his story and it started a part time obsession that is still alive and sticking today.

So a few weeks ago I stumbled across this article saying that Bigfoot sightings or rather "jungle man" sightings in northern India, are on the increase. So much so that the government is sending it's people in to investigate.

My gosh it's so sad that someone actually believes this crap, or even gives a shit, some may say. It's at this point I get to use one of my favorite words. Meh. I am not trying to convince anyone of anything, I am just wasting time while waiting for the market's to stop flat lining.

Anyway so moving on.

Now why all of a sudden I asked myself the sudden increase in sightings? Then I read another article about the same story that mentioned Bhutan.

And it dawned on me. Expansion.

Quite simply there population has expanded to a point that Bhutan can no longer support them and so they have moved on looking for greener pastures.

Now lets take a look at Bhutan. They believe, and I mean they as a nation all the way from the royal family to the common folk, in "The Big Guy". So much so they even have royal Bigfoot hunters to track the local populace. And based on the information from the hunters set up a wildlife reserve to protest the population and the habitat.

What else was this done too. The elephant in South Africa. What happened. The game parks protected them so well, they thrived and the parks where no longer able to support them. So they started marauding around the country side raiding crops. Villagers got upset and hunted them. Blah blah blah. End result. Population control. They really and truly tried everything to slow or stop the growth of the elephant population. Even birth control. And it didn't work. Then they started culling.

Now if there was a population of elusive ape men running around anywhere in the world. Like in Bhutan. And you setup a safe haven for them. Even though you had no hard evidence. How then do you control and their population? Well you don't. They do it themselves. They seem to have enough brains to avoid most humans and stay well hidden enough to avoid being captured, so far. So one can assume they can look after them selves. Now if all of a sudden there was not enough space for them, they should as any population of any significant size will, expand in to new territories.

So now they move into northern India and sightings are on the increase.

Now the point of all this mambo jumbo was not to just waste time but also to point out that India handle this sort of things very differently to the rest of the world. When the villagers are upset or scared they get rowdy and get together in large groups and rush off into the forest to kill tigers, elephants or anything else that they feel threatened by. They also get hurt. When they get hurt they get even more rowdy and the authorities have to step in or they may run a rampage unchecked and do something really bad, like burn down the forest.

Now a few notes about these sightings. More often then not they are groups of "Jungle Men" reported with what looks like children. And there are more and more of them happening. Why though. Well simply "The Big Guy" stuffed up. They just moved a large portion of there population in to one the most inhabited countries on earth. 1 billion humans vs who knows how many but not a large number of Bigfoot. Big mistake. Being new to the land and unfamiliar one would assume they will make mistakes and get seen more often as is the case at the moment.

I think it is just a matter of time now till the villagers get them selves a body.

I cant wait. Sad that it will more then likely be dead. In the long run it may help the world find out what's really running around making noises and leaving footprints while stinking up the place.
